2017 Film Festival - Surrogacy Ethics

Date: 18th Nov ' - 19th Nov '
Location: Filmhouse, 88 Lothian Road, Edinburgh EH3 9BZ [ Map ]

What are the ethical issues arising from surrogacy? Where is it taking place? Who is considering such procedures? How do the children, born from these procedures, feel when they grow up?

This Surrogacy Ethics Film Festival, which is one of the first in the world, will seek to answer some of these questions. At the end of each screening, a discussion will take place between the audience and a panel of invited experts in bioethics, science, law, medicine and politics.

The Film Festival is organised in partnership with The Scottish Council on Human Bioethics, Filmhouse, the Mason Institute, at the School of Law, The University of Edinburgh, St Mary’s University, Twickenham - London, the University of Leicester, and the Center for Healthcare Ethics at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, USA.
